At Shop Apotheke we are all about health! Our marketplace serves 8M+ customers across Europe, and we welcome new users every week. We are growing the existing platform and adding entirely new services to it. Our goal is to enable our customers to live their healthiest lives possible.

We are building up an in-house AdTech team that will be fully responsible for developing a self-service Ad platform for Shop Apotheke's marketplace. This platform will help our customers navigate our enormous marketplace and find the desired products easier by showing relevant and personalized ads in a form of sponsored products, standard banners or video.

We are looking for a Product Owner to join our team. Come, build with us!

Your tasks:

  • Own the solutions your cross-functional team is developing. You will be a PO in a cross-functional team and you will take ownership for developing the advertising platform for retail media.

  • Collect requirements, with the aim of serving the customers and providing them with a great experience. You also keep a focus on the merchandisers' best interests.

  • Partner with the business owners, marketing and any other relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to define the business requirements (to be then translated into specs for the engineering team).

  • Communicate the tasks and priorities to the engineering team as well as preparing detailed specifications.

  • Manage the backlog. You prioritize and take decisions on trade-offs; you make choices between strategic investments and quick tangible outcomes; you evaluate and manage risks and the delivery timeline.

  • Work hand-in-hand with the other Product Owners in your area; partner and seek support from the Lead Product Owner in your area; contribute to the Product Owners chapter through knowledge sharing and exchanging best practices.

Your Profile

The role:

  • Product Ownership and/or Product Management in a cross-functional team is something you have been doing professionally for at least a couple of years. You have developed strategies and tools for setting up backlog prioritization, backlog decomposition and refinement, release planning and management.

  • Going deep into the technical domain rather excites than scares you: you either have an engineering background or you have worked closely with software engineers in the past.

  • Ideally, you have spent some time in the AdTech space.

  • You are proactive, entrepreneurial, and creative and you like to develop a vision for the part of the product you own. You know that a well-written Product Backlog does not guarantee a product's success.

  • Product Discovery is something you have ideally done before. You have the know-how on discovering innovative product solutions that deliver the necessary value, are usable by the target audience and can be delivered with the available resources in the required timeframe.

  • Communication is your strength: you get energized by exchanging ideas with other people; you initiate conversations with your stakeholders and you want to contribute to the Product Owners chapter.


Remote work:

Our offices remain open, but you are free to work from home, from any location in Germany.

The only time we ask you to come to the office in person is for anchor days. Currently, we make sure to meet in person once a month. In the future, we foresee the possibility of two anchor day meetings per month.
