Questions & Answers

General

Am I allowed to work remotely?

We make remote working possible: If your job does not require you to be present in the office, we can arrange the place you work from individually - even for up to 20 days a year anywhere in the EU.

What are the locations?

Our headquarters and logistics centre are located in Sevenum near Venlo in the Netherlands, with additional locations in Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Warsaw, Milan, Lille, Eindhoven, and Tongeren.

What benefits do I receive?

In which areas can I work at SHOP APOTHEKE EUROPE?

Application

How can I apply and what documents are needed?

Please use our online form on the career page for your application. In addition to your CV and a letter of motivation, please send us information about your possible start date and your salary expectations.

How can I prepare for my interview?

Just be your authentic self! What is important to you in relation to your future area of responsibility and where do you want to develop? Where exactly can you get involved? What do you want to advance? It is important to us to get to know you as a person.

Can I apply for several positions at the same time?

If several job listings appeal to you, you are welcome to apply more than once. In our first personal conversation we will evaluate, which position is the best fit for you.

How does the application process work?

Our interview processes are designed individually. Depending on the position and its requirements, additional interviews are held, e.g. with potential colleagues. For some roles it makes sense to get an insight into your work samples or to provide you with a case. You can find more information about the process here:

Internships & Student Jobs

In which areas are you offering internships / student jobs?

We offer internships for high school and university students in almost all areas. For your application, it does not initially matter whether it is a mandatory internship or a voluntary internship. If we are looking for interns, you will find the corresponding job advertisement on our career page. If you cannot find a suitable job, you may also send us an unsolicited application.

What are the prerequisites for an internship?

You are either a high school student or a registered student at a university or university of applied sciences. We value good school and academic achievements as well as initiative, responsibility and team spirit.

What happens after the internship/working student job?

We are always on the lookout for new talents, so chances are good that your journey with us will not necessarily end after your internship. If there is suitable demand, we are very interested in offering our interns/working students a long-term cooperation.

Working in the Netherlands, living in Germany

What do I have to organize before starting work?

You don't have to take care of anything before you start working! We will take care of your health insurance and assist you with your pension application. During your first week at work, we will fill out all the necessary forms together with you.

How does health insurance work?

Even if you become insured in the Netherlands, your German health insurance company will continue to be your health insurance company. Your German health insurance company will invoice the Dutch health insurance company for the services you have claimed in Germany. We support you in registering with a Dutch health insurance company!

What happens to my German pension entitlements?

The pension rights you have built up in Germany will continue to exist. You will then build up further pension entitlements with us in the Netherlands. When you reach retirement age, you will receive both German and Dutch pension payments. In the event of unemployment, you will have the same rights as in Germany.

Where will I pay my taxes in the future?

If you work in the Netherlands, you are automatically liable for tax in the Netherlands. Our external tax advisors will help you with your tax return. Social security contributions (health, pension and unemployment insurance) are paid in the Netherlands.

What are the advantages for me?

In the Netherlands, in addition to your salary, you receive a vacation allowance of 8% of your annual gross salary (paid once a year). In addition, the monthly tax burden is usually lower in the Netherlands than in Germany.

Do I get a travel allowance?

Yes, you will receive a travel allowance: 19 cents/km, net plus salary, max. 450€.
